SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). SAS 70 is an acronym
for ‘Statement of Auditing Standards.’ Its name comes from a section of the
Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) standard of 2002 No. 70 “Reports on the Processing of
Transactions by Service Organization.”
SAS 70 demonstrates that service providers have adequate controls and safe
guards when they host or process data related to their customer base.
